An Angel’s Gift to the World

Abigail Stinnett

I wanted to write a blog a bit off topic, but this story is one worth telling. I was on a trip with Wayne Stinnett, the president of the Association of Oklahoma Narcotic Officers (AONE).  Wayne was reading a book written by his niece, Abigail Stinnett.  Abigail is the daughter of Wayne’s brother Duke, a recently retired officer from the Tulsa Police Department.  Duke’s daughter Abigail, had passed away in October of 2019 at the young age of 13.  Abigail had written a book which was published after her passing, titled The Adventures of Someone Ordinary Who Becomes Extraordinary

Wayne lent me his book after the trip.  My daughter and I read the book, a chapter or two each night.  The book was a fantastic story – about a group of young people who go to a fantasy world, and Abigail’s book is not short on excitement throughout the kids’ journey.  Each night, Lydia and I looked forward to reading the book together.  It was a series of evenings I very much enjoyed with my 11 year old. My daughter Lydia wanted to add her own review of the book, “I liked reading it every night. It was a good book!”

It is truly incredible such a young girl wrote such a tremendous book.  Abigail’s book is not simply a great work for a young person, but a great book in and of itself.  I feel blessed that my daughter and I were able to benefit from Abigail’s imagination, creativity, and talent, and I would recommend this book (geared toward young ladies) as an amazing story from an amazing young lady.
